Dortmund’s teenagers signed-off the season with a 1-0 win at Stadion Rote Erde over Hamburg in the final day of matches in U19-Bundesliga (Group 3). With Duisburg being held to a 1-1 draw at Werder Bremen, the three points lifted BVB above them and into second spot, six shy of winners Schalke.
Quirin Riemann’s goal thirty seconds into first-half stoppage time was enough to seal the win, his fifth of the season. Hamburg rarely threatened and Dortmund came close to extending the lead after the break but didn’t test the ‘keeper enough.
BVB won eight and drew one of their last nine matches, but weren’t able to catch Schalke who started the campaign going eleven unbeaten., and also lifted the U19 cup. Final table:
